NCQA Reaccredits Medical Mutuals Wellness Program

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has
awarded Medical Mutual the status of Accredited for Wellness Health
Promotion. The Accredited status is granted to those wellness and
health promotion organizations that have excellent programs for the
delivery and improvement of wellness and health promotion programs,
which meet or exceed NCQAs rigorous standards. Wellness Health
Promotion accreditation involves review of the key functions
wellness and health promotion organizations perform. The review
focuses specifically on areas of interest to consumers and
employers such as, how wellness programs are implemented in the
workplace and how services such as health coaching are provided to
help eligible individuals develop skills to make healthy choices.
The accreditation continues to establish Medical Mutuals highly
regarded reputation as a leader in the growing wellness market.
Medical Mutual is one of only 21 health plans in the nation to be
awarded accreditation by NCQA for wellness and health promotion,
said Paula Sauer, Medical Mutuals Senior Vice President of Pharmacy
and Care Management. Receiving this accreditation means our
wellness initiatives meet the nation's highest evidence based,
best-in-class standards for value and quality, as well as
demonstrating our value to employers and their workforce. NCQA has
also awarded Medical Mutual Excellent Accreditation status as a
Health Plan for its PPO, POS and HMO commercial products in Ohio.
